There are generally five types of gearboxes, namely: 1. Manual gearbox; 2. Automatic manual gearbox; 3. CVT continuously variable gearbox/CVT gearbox with gears; 4. Dual clutch gearbox; 5. , AMT gearbox.
The classification of gearboxes is as follows: manual gearbox, automatic manual gearbox, CVT continuously variable gearbox/CVT gearbox with gears, dual clutch gearbox, AMT gearbox.
1. Manual gearbox. Advantages: simple structure, low manufacturing cost and maintenance cost, high reliability, fuel economy, high transmission efficiency, quick shift response, compared with other transmissions, manual transmission is more fun to drive. Disadvantages: Compared with automatic transmission, the operation of manual transmission is more cumbersome, and the frustration accompanied by shifting gears cannot be changed.
2. Automatic manual gearbox. Advantages: Manual and automatic switching freely, good fuel economy and comfort. Disadvantages: The manual mode cannot be completely manual, and the cost of use and maintenance is high.
3. CVT continuously variable transmission. Advantages: It feels smooth to use, the gear setting is more free, and the fuel economy is higher than other automatic transmissions, second only to manual transmissions. The exhaust gas emission is relatively low and more environmentally friendly. Disadvantages: 1. Because the cost of CVT is high, if it is not operated properly, the probability of problems will be higher. 2. Because the steel belt of the CVT transmission can bear limited force, many CVT models will have insufficient stamina.
4. Dual clutch gearbox. Advantages: fast shifting, almost no torque loss, 15% reduction in fuel consumption, and almost no frustration. Disadvantages: high cost and poor stability.
5. AMT. Advantages: high transmission efficiency, low manufacturing cost, simple structure and low fuel consumption. Disadvantages: large shifting impact, poor comfort.
